Untitled – Mixed media 24x30x25 cm 2019

This piece was created by experimenting and combining a range of techniques with unusual materials. Within it there is woolly, crocheted form which constitutes galleries. It is surrounded by a shell that was created using a plaster dripping technique and that later,  when polished, becomes firm and rigid but with a tendency to crumble. The nature of the galleries was inspired by body cavities; the shell came about through experimentation. Material: wool, plaster

To swallow or not to swallow? – Carving 2009/2010

A coffin fashioned from an abortion pill. This is my attempt at capturing the moment in which many women are forced to make a choice they would rather not be making: the choice between life and not-life. At the moment at which the choice is made, the cells required for the life of the foetus have already formed and started reproducing themselves. The feelings these women will live with after making their decision are not predetermined. There are many ways of preventing this situation, but all too often it is the case that people lack the knowledge or means to do so, not to mention their indifference.  For many, putting off the decision only leads to even more complicated consequences – including, in certain societies, religious and legal ones. Dimensions: 10 x 5 x 4 mm

Keep … ?  – Bronze, mixed media, drawing  2009, Tallinn

Who would buy a teddy which is not smiling? This is a serie of toys that has real emotions like sadness, fear, worried, confused, anxious etc.

Most of us are concerned that revealing hurt feelings might lead others to react negatively. Perhaps we do not wish to be viewed as childish — or, at worst, pathetic — because, seemingly at least, we’ve lost control over our emotions.

My Removed Makeup  –  Cotton pads, acetone print  2008  Restrooms in popular nightclubs, Tallinn

Our daily life is full of beauty tips. How to look fabulous. Which products one should use. What to eat to get brilliant skin, etc. Photos and texts containing external beauty advice from various beauty sites were printed on cotton pads to mark a reverse move and show reluctance to the public flow. Cotton pads with print on them were left to be seen in public places such as bathrooms in several nightclubs in Tallinn.

Free Me!  –  Plaster  2008 Maarjamäe Palace, Tallinn

Installation involved a tree which is located in the History Museum in Maarjamäe Palace in Tallinn, Estonia. The hazelnut tree was filled with approximately 500 pieces, 8 cm long plaster figures of me. I was calling visitors to an action. Viewers were invited to tie up a miniature figure from the tree and place it wherever they wanted. The exhibition Monuments of Freedom was organized when The Cross of Liberty and Monument to the War of Independence were under construction in 2008 in Freedom Square, Tallinn.

What I Wanted to Say  –   2007 Raja Gallery, Tallinn

During my studies in 2007 I also had to explain and give answers to my 2 year old daughter. It was mind-blowing to generate good artwork at the same period of time at home. I used to write down my ideas. When I started to work on some, I realized I had hit a mental block.  6 pages from my notebook filled with thoughts I had within the creative process fastened up on the wall. Fibolite concrete block impeding sight to the texts.
